This neighborhood is full of talented individuals and families.  Let’s help each other by sharing our interests and energy with each other in an effort to help Smoketree continue to thrive as a community.

If you would like to volunteer to lead or participate in a social/volunteer group in the Smoketree community, please let us know your interests.  We want to hear from you!

You do not need to be an expert in the field of the social/volunteer group.  The following groups are forming in the community now (See below for a description of the group with meeting times and the names of their coordinators):

Smoketree Knitting Club

  • Coordinator – Cari Corr (or YOU!)
  • Formed in January 2018
  • We meet the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month in a member’s home at 7PM
  •  No experience to advanced knitters are welcome. 
  • If you cannot knit, we will show you how with no judgment!
  • If you are stumped on a knitting work and need help, we can help.  Bring it along.
  • Dropped a stitch and don’t know what to do?  Bring it to the Knitting Circle.
  • Crocheters are also welcome!

Smoketree Plant Share

  • Coordinator – Cari Corr (or YOU!)
  • Forming now
  • Neighborhood block captains will let us know when a neighbor needs help
  • There are many ways to participate in this group:
    • Gift – if you have plants or bushes that need homes
    • Need or want – if you need or want plants or bushes or need neighborhood clean-up help
    • Volunteer – if you have some energy and want to help Smoketree shine!
    • Resource – do you have a pickup truck or other yard equipment that you would loan the group when needed?  Aerator?  Riding mower?
 

Smoketree Garden Club

  • Coordinator – Cari Corr (or YOU!)
  • Forming now
  • Meeting time will be determined by the group
  • If you have a general interest in gardening, love to garden, or if you are a master gardener, this is the group for you!
  • We will garden together in our own yards and have meetings to discuss our gardening projects.
  • Smoketree Gardeners will also have two plant sales – one in late Spring and one in Fall to benefit the Plant Share program

  • Block captains will report to this group when they see new neighbors coming
  • This group will provide homemade goodies and neighborhood information to new neighbors to help make them feel welcome and part of our community
  • We need bakers, knitters, crocheters, and friendly folks to join this group
